This is Kayla’s first season with Beach Wave Volleyball coaching the 14 Premier team. Although born in the United States she grew up in Brazil – country known for its great standings in both indoor and beach volleyball. Kayla started playing beach volleyball club when she was 12 years old at the beaches of Vitória – Espírito Santo. When she turned 14 she started playing indoor for Clube de Regatas Saldanha da Gama for two years. Her passion has always been beach volleyball, where she won the state championships five times around 2012-2013 and 5 th place at the under-21 Beach Volleyball Nationals. She received her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at the Federal University of Espírito Santo in 2018 and played during her senior year both indoor and beach volleyball. While in college she received a scholarship to study abroad for one year in Ohio and she was able to play club volleyball for Ohio Northern University – where being an international student she couldn’t play varsity. Kayla moved to Melbourne in 2019 to work as an embedded software engineer and in her free time she loves playing beach volleyball at Paradise beach and she also competes in local tournaments.
