Coaching came naturally to Michelle after graduating from Satellite High School in 2004. Throughout high school, she was a multi-sport athlete, lettering in softball, basketball, and volleyball. But everything changed when she discovered her true passion — volleyball. Once she found the sport, she poured all her energy into it, playing with Cape Coast Volleyball Club (CCVC) for the final two years of her high school career.

Even though she had only been playing for a short time, Michelle quickly stood out. By her junior year, she was being highlighted weekly in Florida Today, the Orlando Sentinel, and other local sports outlets. In 2002, she earned a spot on the Volleyball All-Space Coast Team and received All-State Honorable Mention honors.

Her senior year was one to remember — Michelle was named Brevard County’s All-Space Coast Player of the Year and selected First-Team All-State. Her hard work and dedication paid off when she earned a full-ride scholarship to Barry University. As a freshman, her team went 34–1 and went on to host and win the 2004 NCAA Division II National Championship — an experience that solidified her love for the sport even more.

After battling recurring injuries, Michelle made the difficult decision to step away from playing, but she soon discovered a new calling: coaching. In 2008, she began her coaching career with Tallahassee Juniors Volleyball Club, and it was there that she fell in love with being on the other side of the game — teaching, leading, and watching young athletes grow.

Later that same year, she returned home to Brevard County and began coaching for CCVC, working with the 17 Elite and 18 Nike teams, running summer camps, and offering private lessons. Michelle also came full circle when she joined her alma mater, Satellite High School, as the freshman coach and varsity assistant.

Over the years, Michelle has coached at several schools and clubs across the county. She spent five successful seasons at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy (2014–2019) under Peter Klonowski, where her teams won five straight 4A District Championships and advanced to the 4A Regional State Finals every year. She also served as the Head Varsity Coach at Eau Gallie High School (2020–2022), continuing to share her passion and experience with local athletes.

In 2011, Michelle teamed up with longtime Melbourne High School coach Signe Post to create Serve Volleyball Club (SVC) in Indialantic, FL. There, she helped introduce beach volleyball to South Brevard County, giving athletes new opportunities to train, compete during the summer, and even qualify for the Junior Olympics in California. That same year, she became the Head Varsity Coach at Melbourne Central Catholic (MCC) for the 2011 and 2012 seasons while also coaching multiple age groups at VolleyTech Academy in Satellite Beach.

In 2015, Michelle took a leap of faith and founded Beach Wave Volleyball Club with a simple but powerful goal — to build a program that focuses on developing skilled, confident athletes while keeping the joy and competitive spirit of volleyball alive. What started as a dream quickly became one of Brevard County’s top clubs. Under her leadership, Beach Wave has continued to grow each year, with more athletes and more incredible coaches — all of whom are SafeSport certified, IMPACT trained, and share Michelle’s same dedication to the game.

Now in her 12th year as Director of Beach Wave Volleyball Club, Michelle is proud of what the program has become — a community built on hard work, heart, and love for the game. Every season, she feels grateful to coach the next generation of athletes and to be surrounded by the families who make it all possible.

For Michelle, volleyball isn’t just a sport — it’s a lifelong passion, a source of purpose, and a way to give back to the community that helped shape her.
