CAYLA VERVKA

This is Coach Cayla's second season at Beach Wave. Coach Cayla’s love for volleyball began in 7th grade when she started playing for the local CYO team. That year she began playing club volleyball for Club Integrity and eventually went on to play at East Coast Power in Lehigh Valley, PA. She was a 4 year varsity athlete at Perkiomen Valley High School, named to the PA All State First Team, selected for PAC-10 All Conference First Team, and was captain her senior year. Coach Cayla broke multiple records at PVHS and eventually received multiple scholarship opportunities to play collegiately.
As a high school junior, she committed to a full scholarship to play volleyball at Providence College in the Big East Conference. As a freshman, she played in 33 matches, starting 25 of them, and was second on the team in kills. After suffering a potentially season ending injury her sophomore year, she rehabbed back to play in the second half of the season. After dealing with repeated knee injuries, Coach Cayla supported the team by helping run practices and take stats during all games during her junior and senior years. After graduating with her B.A. in Mathematics, she returned to Providence College for an additional year to complete her MBA, while working as a graduate assistant in the Athletics Compliance Office.
Upon graduating with her MBA, she returned to her hometown and began coaching the 16s team at Club Integrity. She continues to get more involved in the sport by working camps, and is looking forward to playing in more grass / beach tournaments in the future. This is Coach Cayla’s first year at Beach Wave Volleyball Club and is looking forward to a great year and many to come. Go Beach!
