In 2016, he led the NCAA in Kills (523), Kills Per Set (5.03), and Points Per Set (5.53) while boasting an impressive .350 Hitting Percentage. A two-time 1st team all-conference player, Albrecht also was recognized with the Hayes “Pop” Martin Award, given to the student-athlete who best exemplifies the spirit of Belmont Abbey College Athletics.

After graduation, Albrecht started volunteering with the BAC WVB team, and was named assistant coach in January of 2017. During this time, he also coached the 15 Premier team and served as the Social Media Director at Carolina Union Volleyball Club (CUVC) where he would continue to coach various teams until 2022. Soon after taking the assistant role, Nolan was promoted to Head Coach of the BAC MVB team in April. He continued to assist the women’s team for another 2 years while also managing the MVB program. During his 4 year tenure, the Crusaders progressively improved on the court and in the classroom after inheriting a team that finished in sixth place in 2017. That culminated in 2021 with winning the first-ever Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship and earning a bid to the NCAA Tournament. He currently holds a 51-44 (.537) collegiate coaching record. The average GPA during that span was 3.35.

Additionally, Albrecht coached three major awards winners in league play in Rob Valentine (Defensive Player of the Year in 2018), Andrew Kohut (Freshman of the Year in 2019) and Liam Maxwell (Co-Offensive Player of the Year in 2020). A total of 13 players were selected all-conference. Maxwell and Kohut, both currently playing professional volleyball, were selected to the 2020 USAV Collegiate National Team. Albrecht also served as a talent scout for the National Team Development Program and has worked as a lead tryout evaluator and coach for the A2 boys select and A2 girls select programs.

Nolan left his role at BAC in July of 2021 to pursue a career playing professional beach and grass volleyball. He accepted a role at CUVC as their Youth Training Director in charge of training athletes ages 11-14, totaling 14 teams and coaches. Nolan moved to Florida in January of 2023 and is excited to begin his journey with Beach Wave and see the athletes improve while learning valuable skills through the sport of volleyball!
